How to Shop at Motherland Curios

Step 1: Adding Products to your Shopping Cart

Browse through the online store to find products. Category and subcategory pages as well as the search field help make finding products easier. Category and subcategory pages contain summarised product descriptions.

To view more detailed information on a particular product, click on the thumbnail image, the summarised description, or the ‘View’ button under the product. A more detailed description will appear in the main product page. If you find a product you would like to order, click the ‘Add to cart’ button.

If you want to add more products, simply keep browsing through our shop and repeat Step 1. You can view your Shopping Cart at any time by clicking the ‘Shopping Cart’ button in the top right-hand corner on any page.

Step 2: Manage Products in the Shopping Cart

To change the quantity of any of the products in your Shopping Cart, change the number in the ‘Qty’ box or click the (+) or (-) icons. Your order will then be adjusted accordingly.

To delete a particular product from your Shopping Cart, click the red (x) icon next to the ‘Qty’ box for the product you wish to delete. Your order will be updated accordingly.

Step 3: Redeem Gift Voucher

If you would like to redeem a Motherland Curios Gift Voucher or Reduction Coupon, simply enter the code of reduction in the ‘Vouchers’ box immediately under the Shopping Cart and click OK. Your order will then be adjusted accordingly. For more information on Gift Vouchers, refer to ‘How to redeem a Gift Voucher or Reduction Coupon’ below.

Step 4: Estimate Shipping Cost

Immediately below the Shopping Cart and Vouchers box, enter the order destination State and postcode and click the ‘Update carrier list’ button below the carrier list. This will update the shipping cost for each of the Auspost Carriers.

Select your preferred carrier by clicking the round checkbox in the first column against the carrier and click ‘Update cart’. This will update the shipping cost in the Shopping Cart. For more information about the shipping add-on features (Signature on Delivery and Extra Cover), please refer to Step 7 below.

Once you are happy with the information in the Shopping Cart, click the ‘Next’ button in the bottom right-hand corner. Please note that you can always continue shopping by clicking the ‘Continue shopping’ button in the bottom left-hand corner.

Step 5: Login / Register

The Login page will prompt you to enter your customer details. If you are a returning customer please enter your email address and password and click the ‘Login’ button.

If you are a new customer, please enter your email address under ‘Create Your Account’ and click the ‘Create your account’ button. In the Create Your Account page:

• Enter all the relevant information
• Read the customer data privacy statement
• Check the customer data privacy checkbox to indicate that you have read and agree with the statement (please take the time to read our Terms and Conditions of use and Privacy Policy, both accessible from the bottom left-hand corner on any page)
• Click the ‘Register’ button.

Your new account will be created and an email containing your login details will be sent to your registered email address. You will be automatically redirected back to the Shopping Cart Summary page, with your name displayed in the top right-hand corner of the page. Click the ‘Next’ button in the bottom right-hand corner.

Step 6: Enter, Update or Confirm Delivery and Billing Addresses

If you are a returning customer, the delivery and billing addresses confirmation page will appear after clicking the ‘Login’ button in Step 5 above. Here you can:

• Select a delivery address from one of the addresses already registered under your account
• Select a billing address from one of the addresses already registered under your account
• Use the delivery address as the billing address
• Update the delivery or billing address
• Add a new address that you can use as the delivery and/or billing address.

If you are a new customer, the New Address and Phone Number registration page will appear after clicking the ‘Next’ button in Step 5 above. Enter your address, telephone numbers, assign an address title for future reference and click the ‘Save’ button. This will redirect you to the delivery and billing addresses confirmation page. Here you can:

• Select a delivery address from one of the addresses already registered under your account
• Select a billing address from one of the addresses already registered under your account
• Use the delivery address as the billing address
• Update the delivery or billing address
• Add a new address that you can use as the delivery and/or billing address.

Once you have added, updated and/or confirmed your preferred delivery and billing addresses, click the ‘Next’ button in the bottom right-hand corner.

Step 7: Choose your Shipping Carrier

The Shipping Carrier that you selected in Step 4 (Estimate Shipping Cost) will be the default carrier in this step. You can maintain this selection or select any other carrier by clicking the round checkbox in the first column against the carrier.

All our products are delivered through Australia Post’s ‘Parcel Post’ and ‘Express Post’ services. The following two shipping add-on features can be added for both of the two Australia Post delivery services:

Signature on Delivery (SOD)

This feature provides delivery confirmation with capture of the recipient’s signature at the time of delivery. This option is available during the checkout process. Please refer to the current Australia Post charges guide for details and charges. To add this feature, select one of the following shipping carriers:

• ‘Parcel Post – Signature on Delivery’
• ‘Express Post – Signature on Delivery’.

Extra Cover

This provides cover for loss or damage of goods in transit. This service is available during the checkout process and can only be purchased with the Signature on Delivery (SOD) option. Please refer to the current Australia Post charges guide for details and charges. To add this feature, select one of the following shipping carriers:

• ‘Parcel Post – Extra Cover (Signature on Delivery included)’
• ‘Express Post – Extra Cover (Signature on Delivery included)’.

Your Expected Extra Cover

If you opt to include Extra Cover as described above, you will be required to enter ‘Your Expected Extra Cover’. The Extra Cover Form will appear below the list of carriers when a carrier with ‘Extra Cover’ add-on feature is selected. Please note that:

• This is the monetary value of your expected extra cover in case of loss or damage of goods in transit.
• The monetary value is represented in dollar value only. The value must be a whole number; no dollar sign, decimal or commas are accepted.
• The Extra Cover can only be purchased for a minimum value of 100 (Australian dollars) and a maximum value of 5000 (Australian dollars).
• The current cost of Extra Cover is AU$1.50 per AU$100. Please refer to the current Australia Post charges guide for details and charges.

Once you are happy with the selected carrier and add-on features, check the ‘Terms and Conditions of use’ checkbox to indicate that you have read and agree with our Terms and Conditions of use (please take the time to read our Terms and Conditions of use and Privacy Policy, both accessible from the bottom left-hand corner on any page) and click the ‘Next’ button in the bottom right-hand corner.

Step 8: Choose your Payment Method

To pay with your PayPal Account:

• Click ‘Pay with your card or your PayPal account’. You will be redirected to a PayPal Payment Page.
• Click ‘Pay with my PayPal account’.
• Enter your PayPal login details and click Login.
• Confirm or change your debit / credit card details.
• Click ‘Continue’ to confirm your order. This will redirect you back to the Motherland Curios payment page with your Order Confirmation Information displayed.
• An email with details of your order will also be sent to your registered email.

To pay with your Debit/Credit Card:

• Click ‘Pay with your card or your PayPal account’. You will be redirected to a PayPal Payment Page.
• Click ‘Pay with a credit or debit card’.
• Enter all the necessary details including card details and personal information.
• Click ‘Review and Continue’.
• Click ‘Continue’ to confirm your order. This will redirect you back to the Motherland Curios payment page with your Order Confirmation Information displayed.
• An email with details of your order will also be sent to your registered email.

PayPal automatically encrypts all sensitive credit card information sent between your computer and PayPal's servers and does not share this information with Motherland Curios. To find out more about how PayPal protects buyers, visit www.paypal.com.au.

To pay by bank transfer:

• Click ‘Pay by bank transfer (order processing will take more time)’.
• Confirm your order by clicking ‘I confirm my order’. 
• Your Order Confirmation details will be displayed complete with our bank details and the amount to be transferred.
• An email will also be sent to your registered email address, complete with your order confirmation details, our bank details and the amount to be transferred.
• Please note your order reference number that should be inserted in the bank transfer description (subject line).

How to Redeem a Gift Voucher or Reduction Coupon

If you have purchased or received a Motherland Curios Gift Voucher, or received a Motherland Curios Reduction Coupon from us, here’s how to redeem it.

Simply enter the code of reduction associated with the Gift Voucher or Reduction Coupon in the ‘Vouchers’ box immediately under the Shopping Cart and click OK. Your order will then be adjusted accordingly. The Gift Voucher and Reduction Coupon are always sent via email. We recommend that you copy the code of reduction associated with the Gift Voucher or Reduction Coupon from the email and paste it in the ‘Voucher’ box. Be sure not to include any spaces before or after the code of reduction.

If the value of the Gift Voucher or Reduction Coupon is greater than the value of the product(s) in your Shopping Cart, the remaining value will be available to use in your next order at Motherland Curios. Otherwise, the total value of the Gift Voucher or Reduction Coupon will be fully expended. In this case, you can pay the balance during the checkout process.

How to Securely Configure your Web Browser

It is imperative that all web browsers installed on your computer are properly and securely configured. You can configure your web browsers to:

• Disable web browser features that can cause computer vulnerabilities
• Tell you when your details are being sent
• Warn you if your details are not being sent in a secure way.
